Having not played the demo of Final Fantasy XIII, it's not easy to comment on how well the game is shaping up, relying only on the opinions of others, but it's easy enough to at least post a few screenshots of what is easily my most anticipated game on Playstation 3. Valkyria Chronicles is a stunning experience that demonstrates just how good that sort of game can be, and Final Fantasy, though very different in terms of combat, shares many of the best ingredients. Given the incredible quality of the instalments on earlier Playstation consoles, with my particular favourites being Final Fantasy 8, 7 and 12, Final Fantasy XIII could turn out to be the greatest game on PS3. Here are a few screenshots to pass the time, followed by a few "antique" Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 shots, outstanding in their generation, to demonstrate the visual evolution of the series.

Awesome memories of Final Fantasy games. They're not in everyone's favourite genre, but for many that love Final Fantasy, there's little else that can come close.
