Using BBC iplayer on the PS3
Though it's been available via PC for months and months, the addition of the BBC iplayer to PS3's video capabilities is very welcome, and handy if you want your favourite BBC TV in your sitting room rather than on the PC.
The quality of the iplayer on PS3 has been highly praised, and using it for the first time is quite good fun, picking out a few programmes to add to your lineup and enjoying them in full screen in the sitting room. Grand!

Upgrading a PS3 HDD
It might not be the most exciting experience on PS3, but there's something really satisfying about changing the internal HDD for something a bit bigger.
The PS3 HDD can be removed easily and replaced by anything that fits a few size restrictions, allowing gamers to upgrade their storage space to 320Gb and more.

Linger in Shadows
Baffling and bizarre, but basically a bold, and in places brilliant, branch of entertainment, Linger in Shadows is somewhat like the recent Heavy Rain, blurring the lines between films and games, providing little more than an interactive sequence where you can adjust camera angles, speeds and a few other settings.
There are hidden secrets to search for, but essentially Linger in Shadows is just a short film to enjoy, and it's a moving one. Supported by outstanding music and sometimes haunting visuals, the game is an emotion-filled five minutes.

Hatching a tiny fuzzball in Eyepet
Admittedly, it's a bit dull at first, much like sitting on an egg I guess. It's also curious why a furry mammal appears from an egg, but I guess birthing scenes in front of the kiddies are frowned upon (so why not have it arrive in a box from the pet shop?). However, once your mancatdogwomble is born, it's time to enjoy the cuteness as it glimpses its first seconds of digital life.
Eyepets are fun little critters, immensely cute and probably quite cuddly, and watching their first few steps is a real privilege.

Powersliding through bends in Outrun Online Arcade
Gaming is often all about doing things you can't or shouldn't do in real life. Outrun does for driving what TimeSplitters does for shooting. You shouldn't do what the game does, but enjoying the digital recreation is fast, fun and thoroughly brilliant. Powersliding in Outrun is sublime, bringing back arcade memories and lighting up rose-tinted sunglasses.
As the lady friend in the vehicle screams with delight (ooh er) and your driver reaches for his gearstick, you know you're doing something right.

Cammy and other ladies of Street Fighter IV
For every sensible entry in this list, I feel the need to add something a little less mature. Though nowhere near rivalling the beautiful ladies of Final Fantasy, Cammy, Chun Li and co are likely to give your gran a shock next time she kicks your butt at Street Fighter. With pants like those, Cammy will swiftly earn a fan club.
I should probably add that it's not just the ladies - Ryu and others also show off their abs in a cel-shaded display of masculinity. Spots, stripes, tomatoes, etc.

Chaotic multiplayer games of Worms
There are games that rely on skill, cunning and careful thought, and then there are games like Worms, where those things will help, but you'll still need luck by the barrel load to be successful. That doesn't hamper Worms though - it just becomes disorganized chaos, and enormous fun.
Imagine firing a bazooka over a cliff towards two enemy worms. Results may vary. In one scenario, both are hit, roll onto a mine and get thrown off a cliff. In another, the wind grabs the missile and causes it to return to sender. Chaos (ish)!

Pulling silly expressions in LittleBigPlanet
I know it's incredibly daft, and not the main point of the game, but one of the most fun things to do in LittleBigPlanet is to pull silly expressions, using the D-pad. Gathering up sad, angry, happy and silly, the range of expression is enough to generate a few laughs.
Playing online, gamers who would normally resort to spawn killing and other dirty tactics are reduced to angry expressions and excessive jumping. Great fun.

Re-living childhood moments with Digger HD
Plenty of classic games have been re-made for the Playstation Network, but few capture the retro feel of the 1980s, while still updating things for the 21st century.
In Digger, the simple, but deep, gameplay can keep players returning for hours, particularly with its excellent co-op modes. Great retro stuff.

Taking animal form in Mini Ninjas
Bounding around as a fox, charging as a boar, hopping like a frog - all are possible when taking spirit form in Mini Ninjas, which is extremely good fun.
Perhaps it's that the animals are so cute, but there's something immensely relaxing about getting one step closer to nature by becoming one of the native animals.

Take part in one of gaming's least enjoyable movie conversions, with a few T-600s and some bad, bad robots.

What is the difference between a man and a parasite? A man builds. A parasite asks 'Where is my share?' A man creates. A parasite says, 'What will the neighbours think?' A man invents. A parasite says, 'Watch out, or you might tread on the toes of God... '
